This week with R+K…
After a quick start to the year which saw more homes sold in January 2021 than January 2020, frigid February weather has not been kind to real estate sales. Listing activity is down 43% in February from last year. Total sales in February 2021 fell 25% over the same period last year. This has taken the momentum of a strong January to a negative 6% in overall home sales in Lawrence for 2021. Average price, however, continues to see massive increases. In February of 2020, the average home price was $242,000. This year so far, it’s $263,000 for an increase of almost 9%.

In order to rework the event without the crowds, local businesses and even some homes will put together St. Patrick’s day displays, and will be listed on a parade route running March 5-17.
