This week with R+K...
It's the end of April already...really, where has it gone?! Just one month of school left for those of us with school-age kids, so it's past time to make plans for Summer. Kids activities are filling up fast, but check out the Lawrence Arts Center, Lawrence Parks & Rec, Pet World Summer Camps, and AR Workshop for day camps and activities to keep the kiddos busy.
Speaking of Summer, LJWorld just reported today that the outdoor pool will plan to open after remaining closed last year. Date TBD, as it depends on hiring approximately 100 employees in order to safely operate. Read more HERE.
PSA: Mother's Day is coming up on May 9! Local restaurants have been taking reservations, and many places have preorders open for pastries, cakes and more. Last minute gifts? Head downtown and hit up the Phoenix Gallery, Au Marche, and Striped Cow.
THIS WEEKEND:
TODAY (Friday) is Final Friday Downtown and in the Warehouse Arts District. The Lawrence Arts Center and Phoenix Gallery will participate virtually with art talks and live music, and the Cider Gallery will be open featuring Cleo & Leo Cookie Co (macarons!) from 6-8pm.
7:30am on Saturday the 1st, the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce will be doing a ribbon cutting for the Lawrence Farmer's Market official Grand Opening! The market will run the usual 7:30-11:30 hours; look for a kids scavenger hunt, take home activities, and more vendors!
Also Saturday the 1st from 4-8pm, join Trivedi Wine at 1826 E 1150 Rd in Lawrence for ourdoor music and a food truck!
Saturday the 1st kicks off the Lawrence Humane Paw Valley Challenge, a month-long virtual/self-paced fundraise and fitness event.
